Introduction

the purpose of this “Journal”…

Over the past 25 years, Joel Safran has developed his ability in evaluating and treating chronic conditions more effectively than other professionals.  A common statement from patients struggling with various Chronic Conditions has been… “You have been more effective than any doctor or therapist I have ever worked with”.

So, the purpose of this Journal is to write about some of these special treatment experiences.  In so doing, it is hoped that people like you will be motivated toward working with this Therapy Practice.  As a HealthCare Professional, Joel Safran has been described as being “unique” and “one of a kind”.  In reading this Journal, hopefully you will become more open to what he can do to help you and others you know.

Because our body… and life itself… is so very complex, it is difficult, and sometimes even limiting, to categorize.  Yet this may help to keep information somewhat organized.  Here are the “categories” that we will start with for now.

1.  Auto Accident & Fall type injuries…

Injuries from “Motor Vehicle Accidents” vary greatly depending on the angle of impact, position of people in the car, and other reasons.  Injuries from “falls” can vary as well.  The patient may have fallen or perhaps something had fallen on that person.  In order to develop an effective treatment strategy, it is important to understand these lines of force upon your body.

2.  Brain & Central Nervous System (CNS)…

When the “Headquarter Command” of the body does not develop or function normally, it produces a large number of strange sounding “labeled diseases & disorders”.  With my 25 years of experience… and with all the different techniques & therapies I have become skilled in using… the goal is to go past the “labeled diagnosis” and to figure out what might actually be happening in the body.  And then to develop an appropriate treatment strategy focused on improving functions.

a.)  CranioSacral Therapy is a primary technique used in treating Central Nervous System conditions.  I am experienced in the use of both the Structural techniques as well as the Membranous techniques.  I also use other Osteopathic techniques in working with the Organs and their relationships with the CNS.

3.  Childhood & Birth Conditions…

In addition to Birth being one of the most wonderful miracles of life… it often can be a stressful & traumatic experience as well.  When we are born, quite often we have unnoticed flaws that will cause greater problems as we age.  As children become more active, they are also prone to all sorts of injuries.  Many things can happen that may show up as physical or behavioral concerns.  And, with proper treatments and with an excellent therapist, children have the ability to quickly respond to treatments and to quickly improve.

4.  “RiverDance” and other Athletes…

“Dancers” perhaps demand more from their bodies than other types of athletes.  So, this category is about the concerns that “active people” quite often have…  Pro & Amateur & Recreational sports and activities…  Tennis, Golf, Hockey, Swimming, Track… and many other activities.  I usually can help them get past a problem or a condition… so they can perform better… while being less prone to injury.

a.)  My two weeks as the Therapist for “RiverDance” was a wonderful experience for me and the cast.  They had never provided anyone with a letter of appreciation… But they gave one to me.  When you read this Journal-Post, it should provide you with a good idea of how I can work with “Active People”.

5.  Things to think about…

From time to time, I may wish to comment on some HealthCare issue.  So, this will be a “miscellaneous” type category about various concerns or issues.  Journal-Posts will usually be shorter.  The purpose will always be to encourage us to think about something more thoroughly.
